Jacksonville has always been the River City, and this design is a salute to the nearly 1,900 firefighters who protect more than 800 square miles across the largest city by land area in the contiguous United States. From downtown to the beaches, from the Northside to Mandarin, Jacksonville’s firefighters cover a city unlike almost any other in America. Long distances, busy streets, neighborhoods, waterways, highways, industry and everything in between — when the call comes in, somebody has to answer it.
